Material Recovery Facility

Waste Management, Inc. has made a nationwide commitment to recycling through the Recycle Americaâ programs for municipal, residential, commercial and industrial customers. Currently there are a number of Recycle Americaâ programs operating throughout New England with many more programs being developed. Waste Management will always continue to implement responsible, comprehensive recycling programs that allow our customers to effectively manage their waste stream and provide a sound, solid waste management system.

Waste Management of New Hampshire, Inc. - Material Recovery Facility (MRF) has been designed to process commingled or source separated materials and prepare and bale those recyclable materials for shipments through-out the world to be remanufactured into new materials and products.

Location: The MRF is located at Turnkey Recycling and Environmental Enterprises (TREE), in Rochester, NH. The facility contains a processing system capable of processing over 900 tons per week of commingled recyclable materials but also meet the quality control specifications established by the market end-users.

Operating Procedures: Vehicles enter into our operation through the TREE, TLR-III Landfill weigh station where they are video taped, weighed and directed to the MRF for off-loading. Materials will be primarily segregated into five categories; commingled containers, mixed paper, high-grade paper, dry waste and corrugated cardboard. Mixed Paper and Corrugated Cardboard will be directly deposited onto the tipping floor and baled for market. Dry Waste and Commingled Containers will be processed and baled for market. The non-recyclable residue from this process will be collected and taken to Turnkey Landfill for disposal.

Materials Handled: Mixed Paper: Not limited to; newspapers, phonebooks, greeting cards, brochures, folders, magazines, catalogues, old mail, flyers and old statements (etc.) paperboard; paper food and container cartons or boxes. Corrugated Cardboard Any corrugated box (not waxed). Commingled Containers HDPE, PET plastic containers, beverage bottle containers, alternative glass products (for Processed Glass Aggregate), not limited to; plates, mugs, dishes, stemware, drinking glasses and heat resistant cookware. (may require agreement changes) Aluminum cans, Steel cans, Aluminum foils and plates, empty aerosol cans. (MRF Continued) Mixed Office Paper High grades of paper, mixed. Dry Waste Commercial Waste streams from businesses that have high volumes of recyclable materials and minimal solid waste but no space to allow for extra containers.

Sorted materials The above listed materials that are already sorted and prepared for bailing. Baled Materials Plastics, corrugated, office paper and cans that are already baled and brought to the MRF are offered high market value for the material.

Operating Hours: The MRF will be open from 8:00 am - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 am - 11:30 am on Saturday. Materials from municipal recycling programs may be delivered to our facility during these hours.
